BAND/ARTIST:
The Volcanics
VENUE:
Milk Bar
DATE:
20 Jan 2024
The Volcanics are a no-holds barred Aussie rock band in the finest traditions of Radio Birdman, Celibate Rifles, Vanilla Chainsaws, Rose Tattoo, Cosmic Psychos et al. With their twin six string guitar, five piece attack front man Johnny is in your face with passion and angst.
Centrepiece of tonight’s gig was the video launch of their epic new single “Saturday Night”. Following a screening they emerged on stage and erupted in a sixty minute of riffs, sweat, solos and solid rock.
Hard to pick out special moments in the cascading wall of rock that hit the Milk Bar but I would have to point to ”Volatile World” and “Saturday Night” for moments the encapsulated the evening.
The full venue shows that Aussie rock is still standing, and with bands like The Volcanics championing this live music sound it will be standing for years to come.
The Volcanics have built up a five-album catalogue with their twenty year plus history. A sixth album is on it’s way so look out to make that buy.
An excellent night of live music at the solid venue that is the Milk Bar.
