Snake Eyes – Part 4
BAND/ARTIST:
The Wedges
VENUE:
Lynotts Lounge
DATE:
19 July 2024
Topping the bill of this eclectic line-up The Wedges flexed their powerful metal-rock-death musical muscles with a dynamic forty-five minute set.
Their playing is tight, complex, skilled and loud.
Molly takes the lead on siren vocals that turn death metal with Micheal (bass) at times alternating with death metal howls.
The layered sounds of two guitars is augmented by Daniel switching between keyboards and a third six string. Is this a flow over from old school rock bands such as UFO (Pual Raymond, Neil Carter), Blue Oyster Cult (Allan Lanier, Richie Castellano), et al I wonder?
Hyperbolically as it may seem this multi-talented five piece still to be excelling with each live show.
The venue was holding an increased number of live music aficionado’s by the time The Wedges hit the stage. They provided an enthusiastic reception and on going support through out this hard rocking, head banging, slam-dancing set.
Sadly due to scheduling constraints, and despite roars of ‘one more song’ the band departed to Rock n Roll another day.
Set List: “Dry Boat”, “Resin”, “Genisis”, “The Collapse” “Regicide”, “A.R.E.S.”
The Wedges are:-
Sam Pursglove - guitar
Molly Corduroy - Vocals/Guitar
