A Legs Electric gig is always a rock’n’roll party and they frequently have a surprise ace up their fringed sleeves. Tonight there were no fringes but a surprise with the first three legged (Kylie’s words) guitarist in the form of the mercurial Micheal McKenna joining them as a fill-in. With one rehearsal up their collective sleeves they put in a great show that lost none of the flash, hooks, razzle or rock. Opening with ‘Sold Ya Soul’ they kicked into ‘Strange Addiction’ as the sound of multiple shutters clicked resounded. True there was a different edge to the sound with the absence of hair flicking, boot clicking Elana Haynes but Magic Mike brought a new resilience into the echo chamber so overall nothing was lost. Equally nothing was lost in the hair flicking stakes as Ama, Erin and Kylie always get into it, and more. With their riffs drawing blood this was yet another exceptiona; rock show that caught the live music devotees hook, line and sinker. You better run cos Legs Electric are coming after you!
