If the Woody and the Ukulele’s didn’t get you up then the first band of Saturday surely did.
Heavy rock/metal opera with amazing vocals (Gina Bafile) was like a musical alarm clock. Artistic bass by the mercurial Maaz Manik was driven on by the power drumming of Dan Grainger.
Krissy Sanfead on the flying V six string cut it up with skill, dexterity and winged hair. Heavy riffing and razor sharp solo’s flew around.
Missing the layered keyboards (Nikki Dagostino) from the previous five piece line-up I’ve witnessed ensured they more brutal in their musical attack. Nothing to detract from the powerful operatic performance by Gina however.
The early bird live music aficionado’s gathered in clusters on the surrounding slopes appreciated their efforts with heartfelt applause. However still too early for any slam diving off the hill.
